Thomas M. Jones joined DFA of California in 1990. He is the Senior Director of Scientific and Analytical Services and based in Fresno, California. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from California State University, Fresno in 1983 and went on to receive a Master’s degree in Microbiology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1988. Tom has conducted research into the survival of pathogenic bacteria in dried foods and the effects of commodity fumigation on toxigenic molds. He has also lectured in many training seminars for the food industry on a variety of topics, including microbiology, sanitation, GMPs, HACCP and product recalls. Tom is a member of the Institute of Food Technologists, AOAC International, and the American Society for Microbiology and the International Association for Food Protection.
